Eight days before the scheduled closing date of November 21, 2004, Sacred Heart Parish was notified that the closing date had been rescinded, and that another date would be selected after further consultation.  Since that time a number of ministries and commissions have been reactivated and have been meeting, planning, and continuing activities in as “normal” a way as possible.  The official website of the parish is listed in the menu at left.

Current activities include reinvigorating our various ministries and commissions, and supporting other parishes, whether in vigil or scheduled to be closed.   Our mission is unchanged.  Keeping the Sacred Heart community together, and looking to the future, are both important tasks we all face.

The vigil planning and activities have been suspended for now.  The appeal website is on hold; the material is still available from the “Appeal Website” link to the left.   Since the formal canon appeal is ready to be submitted upon our closure, and that appears to be indefinitely postponed, this website will adapt to the changed conditions, as “Friends of Sacred Heart Parish”.

Sacred Heart has been contacted by the advisory committee on reconfiguration appointed by Archbishop O’Malley, to meet with representatives from the parish.  At this time, the meeting is expected to be in January.
