Dear Archbishop Sean,

I am not a Catholic.  I am Jewish, but have found a warm welcome at Sacred Heart Parish.  My children and wife are active parishioners.  I have attended RCIA classes but have not decided to become Catholic at this point.  If anyone had told me that I would ever consider conversion, before attending Sacred Heart, I would have been amused at the idea. The story is long and complicated, but you can imagine how difficult it is for someone raised Jewish to accept Catholic beliefs.

For me the real thing is that Sacred Heart is an amazing group of people.  I am glad that my family worships at Sacred Heart.  Though I cannot accept all of the beliefs of Catholicism, I still appreciate the weekly masses that I attend with my family. Sacred Heart is a good parish and the center of our family life.  It would be a shame to close down such a closely-knit, vibrant church.  I can’t believe that closing Sacred Heart is in the best interest of the Archdiocese and furthermore, I can’t believe that you think it is the right thing to do.  The closure of this church would irreparably damage the Archdiocese.

I thought you might enjoy this picture from our trip to Rome with the Sacred Heart Choir.  Out of the 76 parishioners who went on the trip, I was honored to have been the one individually blessed by the Pope.

Sincerely,
