I
just wanted to contact the church. I am a former resident of Lexington; I made both my
First Communion and Confirmation there. I was terribly distressed to
learn of the church's closing. I have not lived in Lexington since 1987, when my mother Jacqueline
Neal, a longtime communicant at Sacred Heart, passed away. My
grandparents John and Lauretta Casey were
communicants as well. I remember Father Colletti
as a young priest (I don't know if he'd remember me), and have fond memories of
the late Father McCabe. He was a wonderful person. I hope and pray
that the Archbishop O'Malley perhaps has a change of heart. I have lived
in Bridgewater, Massachusetts for many years and attend St.
Thomas Aquinas Church which was itself in danger of closing, but is not. Sacred Heart
Church will always be
part of my hometown for me.
Sincerely,
Bridgewater, Massachusetts
