Status of Appeal as of 2004-06-14, Monday.

Father Mark O’Connell at the Office for Canonical Affairs informed us that the official decree regarding closing has not been sent out. It will be an official document which will probably be sent by registered mail. His guess at this point is that it will be sent around July 1^st, so the appeal clock is not yet ticking.

He also stated that while we can purchase the church and even call it an independent Catholic church it will not be the same as other churches under the pope. It was his belief that no priests will celebrate mass there. There are conflicting reports on this issue. Can someone contact some independent Catholic churches and find out what is really going on?
